From Inspiration to Textile Design

Every FratiHome throw begins, first and foremost, with a creative vision.

The initial idea is interpreted by the design team, led by Cristiana Davini Frati, who explores its identity through patterns, proportions and colour combinations. Inspiration gradually evolves into a true textile design project, conceived to transform an emotion into something tangible.

It is a creative journey in which aesthetics and textile expertise go hand in hand, leading to the creation of the first sample.

From the First Sample to the Finished Throw

The first sample marks the moment when everything we have imagined finally becomes something we can see and touch.

From here begins a complex textile manufacturing process involving several stages: fibre preparation, dyeing, weaving, finishing, sewing and final packaging.

The entire process takes place in the Prato textile district, partly within our own company and partly in collaboration with specialised manufacturers responsible for individual production stages. Different skills and areas of expertise come together to bring the same project to life, guiding it from the initial idea to the finished product.

The Pursuit of the Perfect Handfeel

But a throw is not simply something to admire. It is something to touch.

Every stage of production contributes to achieving a specific handfeel: that unique sensation a fabric creates when it comes into contact with the hands and skin.

Softness, texture and tactile comfort are carefully refined throughout the manufacturing process to achieve the sensory balance that defines FratiHome boiled wool throws.
